Stephen Page is a photographer based in Oxford, specialising in natural-light portraiture, especially of children and families.
He has been many things: a musicologist, an organist, a computer scientist, a management consultant, a company director ... and a qualified member of the British Institute of Professional Photography.
He has worked extensively with world-class musicians, providing images for press, marketing and concert programmes. In his professional photography work he now specialises in children and family portraits, helping his clients to record their lives at a moment in time.
He works entirely in natural light, closely and informally, seeking to capture expression, emotion and relationships. He prefers to work in black and white, as this draws out light and expression in an image. He often uses a Leica rangefinder camera, which helps him to catch particularly beautiful moments in a fluid, photojournalistic way.
Stephen was educated in Australia before returning to the UK, obtaining his doctorate at New College, Oxford. After 25 years in London he returned to Oxford where he now lives with his wife and son.
